ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS COMPLETED
Project reviews completed from December 15 to January 15 are listed below. These projects have been screened through the internal environmental review process for potential impacts on wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and cultural and archaeological resources etc. Through the review process it was determined that environmental impacts have been kept to a minimum and mitigated as necessary and that they do not meet the criteria for significant actions as defined in the environmental review process and may proceed. All of these projects are in compliance with the Endangered Species Protection Act, Natural Areas Preservation Act, Interagency Wetlands Policy Act and cultural resource statutes.

  • Clinton Lake
    0007305 - This project involves the construction of approximately 250' of lane to access a new 120 acre tract of land that was recently acquired by the Department for upland and forest game hunting. In addition, two 4' culverts will be install under the lane. Project was submitted for review on 10-10-00.

  • Lake Carlyle WMA
    0001943 - This project involves the construction of levees at the site for flood storage mitigation. The levees will be built in an agricultural field using a levee plow. Two pump stations will be located along the river for water level management. A spillway will be added at elevation 452 on one of the levees. Project was submitted for review on 3-28-00.

  • Pyramid State Park
    0008955 - The Washington County Water Company has requested permission to install approximately 6100' of 6" water main on park property. The line will be located in a 5' wide right of way abutting the local road right of way. The area to be disturbed consists of cropland and perennial grasses. Project was submitted for review on 10-4-00.

  • Cache River
    0008946 - This project entails the construction of 3 new hunter parking lots at the site. The lots will be approximately 45' x 80' in size and accommodate 7 cars each. Project was submitted for review on 12-7-00.

  • Illinois Beach State Park
    0009287 - This project involves the restoration of natural community dynamics at the North Dunes area within the park. Activities will include the removal of exotic and invasive brush and the subsequent reintroduction of a fire regime to maintain the site's historic structure and high quality species composition. Project was submitted for review on 12-18-00.

  • Mississippi River Area
    0006460 - This project involves the demolition and removal of an old concession building located on the site. Upon removal, the area will be graded and the area reseeded. Project was submitted for review on 8-28--00.

  • Argyle Lake State Park
    0006612 - This project involves the demolition and removal of a barn, house with garage, and clear well from the site. The foundations will be removed to 18" below grade and the area regraded and seeded. Project was submitted for review on 10-19-00.

  • Pere Marquette State Park
    0005074 - With this proposal, a steep bank at the site will be graded down to allow the area to be safely mowed. The area is located in front of the site residence near the park's upper maintenance area. Project was submitted for review on 6-26--00.

  • Beaver Dam State Park
    0008419 - This Project was submitted for review on 10-31-00.

  • Jim Edgar/ Panther Creek SF&WA
    0000778 - This project involves the construction of a hiking and mountain bike trail around the Big Lake. Additional work item will include check dams, culverts and small bridges, retaining walls, and benches. Project was submitted for review on 2-11-00.

  • Dickson Mounds Museum
    0005079 - The historic Canton to Liverpool toll booth located at Dickson Mounds will be relocated to an area immediately adjacent to the museum for better use. Extensive renovation work will also take place to exterior and interior areas of the booth. Project was submitted for review on 6-23-00.

  • Clinton Lake
    0008280 - This work involves the eradication of two rows of autumn olive plants from the site. The plants will be bulldozed which will be followed by mowing and chemical treatment of any sprouts. Project was submitted for review on 11-2-00.

  • Big River State Forest
    0008261 - This project will involve the installation of a standard trailer dump station at the equestrian campgrounds at the site. In addition to the station, treatment field and holding tank, the project will include water service and paved approaches. Project was submitted for review on 11-8-00.

  • Jubilee College
    0008263 - This project is identical to the project referenced above at Big River State Forest with the addition of security lighting. Project was submitted for review on 11-8-00.

  • Prairie Wind State Trail
    0008497 - This work involves the IDNR providing work easements over and on the trail as the IDOT will remove and replace the existing concrete deck beams on the I-57 overpasses at the trail. Project was submitted for review on 12-19-00.

  • Beaver Dam State Park
    0004315 - This project involves the construction of one centralized collection and treatment system to replace the five small wastewater treatment systems throughout the park. The proposed 13,000 gpd aerated lagoon sewage treatment system will collect and treat wastes from all current and proposed wastewater sources within the park. Project was submitted for review on 9-29-00.
