The Division of Resource Review & Coordination is responsible for the protection
of the State's natural resources, through the implementation of
the Endangered Species Protection Act, Interagency Wetlands Policy
Act, the Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act, and conducting
environmental reviews within each Division program. The Division
is responsible for environmental contaminant assessment for Department
owned or managed lands and for the development of natural resource
damage assessment based on federal regulations. The Division of
Resource Review & Coordination shall serve as the primary point
of contact on establishing an official Department environmental
position on internal and external projects, permits, and plans related
to construction, development or other activities that would result
in a change in the existing environmental conditions, unless otherwise
officially designated by the Director. Such positions shall be consistent
with Department policies, goals and objectives and be coordinated
with appropriate Department offices.
