Division of Resource Review & Coordination

The Division of Resource Review & Coordination is responsible for the protection of the State's natural resources, through the implementation of the Endangered Species Protection Act, Interagency Wetlands Policy Act, the Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act, and conducting environmental reviews within each Division program. The Division is responsible for environmental contaminant assessment for Department owned or managed lands and for the development of natural resource damage assessment based on federal regulations. The Division of Resource Review & Coordination shall serve as the primary point of contact on establishing an official Department environmental position on internal and external projects, permits, and plans related to construction, development or other activities that would result in a change in the existing environmental conditions, unless otherwise officially designated by the Director. Such positions shall be consistent with Department policies, goals and objectives and be coordinated with appropriate Department offices.
