Victoria Pheasant Habitat Area Hunter Fact Sheet

2010 - 2011 Season

LOCATION: One mile east of Victoria on Illinois Route 167. 241 Total Acres.

1. Severe weather and safety conditions can result in closing all or part of the area.
2. It will be unlawful to possess or consume alcoholic beverages while hunting in the area.
3. Hunters under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
4. All hunting must be with shotgun or bow and arrow

1. Dove, Teal, Snipe, and Rail hunting is handled through Snakeden Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area. A drawing will be held at 11:00 a.m. if more hunters show up than can be accommodated.
2. Dove hunting is non-toxic shot only: steel size 6 or bismuth 7½, or smaller; teal hunting is non-toxic shot only; steel size 4 or smaller, are equivalent.
3. Uplandgame hunting is by permit only. A Free Upland Game Hunt Application must be used to apply for these hunts. Application dates will be publicly announced. Applications may be obtained by calling the IDNR Permit Office at 217/782-7305 or on-line at http://dnr.state.il.us/admin/systems/index.htm.
4. Only one upland hunting party, consisting of the permit holder, and no more than five (5) hunting partners will be allowed each day.
5. Upland game hunters must wear a cap and upper outer garment of solid blaze orange (at least 400 square inches).
