2011 - 2012 Season - Archery Deer
Location: 5 miles west of Harrisburg, Illinois; south of State Rt. 13
Available Species: Archery Deer Hunting Only
A vacated strip mined land, Sahara encompasses 4004 acres. Presently, only 1200 acres are open to hunting. Mine reclamation hazards limit public access on some portions of the site. Vehicles must remain on two primary access roads. Users must adhere to signs and postings for access to huntable areas. Abandoned, vacant buildings, reclamation area construction, hazardous and private roads are restricted areas and are closed to public access.
Public safety is a priority focus of programs at Sahara Woods.

Motorized vehicles are allowed only on open site roads. Parking is allowed only at designated parking areas.
