NAME: FOX RIDGE STATE PARK
LOCATION: Eight miles southeast of Charleston, 12 miles north of Greenup on Illinois Route 130.
DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA:

The area lies along the Embarras River, and is characterized by wooded ravines, conifer plantations, and native and restored prairie openings. The woodlands at Fox Ridge are the largest contiguous block of mature hardwoods in the Embarras basin.
