Five (5) miles northeast of Mackinaw.
DESCRIPTION:
1,428 acres of rolling terrain dominated by two miles of Mackinaw River frontage;
60% timbered, 40% open meadow, agriculture field and two interior ponds.

HUNTING REGULATIONS:
Note: Free Site Permit (windshield card) available online at www.dnr.illinois.gov
- Quail, rabbit and pheasant
hunters must wear a cap and upper garment of solid and vivid blaze orange
of at least 400 square inches at all Department owned or managed sites. No
upland game hunting during firearm deer season. A free site permit is required
to hunt rabbit, pheasant and quail. Permit holders may bring no more than three hunting partners allowing for a maximum of four hunters. Site permits are issued through a lottery
drawing from the Springfield Office. Youth Pheasant Hunt will be held on the
Saturday before regular Upland Game opening.
- Squirrel
hunters must obtain a free site permit (windshield card) available online and report harves online prior to March 15th. Failure to report harvest will result in loss of hunting privileges at this site for the following year. Squirrel hunters are allowed to use shotguns, .22 caliber or smaller rimfire firearms, muzzleloading black powder rifles and air rifles.
- Deer archery hunters must
obtain a free site permit (windshield card) available online and report harvest online prior to Bebruary 15th. Failure to report harvest will result in loss of hunting privileges at this site for the following year. It is unlawful to construct or use any
tree stand using nails, screws or any device which pierces or cuts the bark
of the tree on which it is installed. Tree stands may be left unattended from
Sept.15 through Jan.31. No bow hunting during firearm deer season.
- Deer firearm hunters
must possess a site permit issued from the Springfield permit office. All permit hunters must check in and report their harvest at the site office/check station daily.
- Dove hunter quotas are
filled by permits issued from the Springfield office for Sept.1-5. Permit holders must check in at the site office/check station prior to 11:00 a.m. Permits are void after 11:00 a.m. Permit holders may bring one hunting partner. Daily drawing for unclaimed permits will be held at 11:00 a.m. Hunters must check out at the site office/check station. Starting Sept. 6, hunters must sign-in at the site office sign-in box. Blind sites starting Sept 6 will be issued on a first come basis. Hunters must sign-out at the site office/check station sign-out box. Dove hunters must possess non-toxic shot. #6 steel shot or smallare on this area.
- Turkey hunter permits
for spring shotgun season will be issued from the Springfield office. Turkey fall archery hunters must obtain a free site permit (windshield card) available onlie and report harvest online prior to February 15th. Failure to report harvest will result in loss of hunting privileges at this site for the following year.
- All hunting, other than squirrel hunting, is restricted
to shotgun or bow except that muzzle loading rifles and handguns are permitted
during the firearm deer season. Handguns allowed are centerfire revolvers
or centerfire single shot .30 caliber or larger with a minimum barrel length
of 4 inches.
- It is unlawful to possess
or consume any alcoholic beverages while hunting on this area.
- It is unlawful to ride horses on this site or allow horses to enter this site.
