Pere Marquette has an extensive
interpretive program. We have a new Visitor's Center with state-of-the-art
displays open year round. Programs
are offered throughout the year. On-site
programs are offered April through
October, while off-site programs
are offered November through March.
Examples of programs include nature hikes, wetlands programs,
scavenger hunts, and owl programs. Special programs offered only
in specific seasons of the year include nature hikes when the
leaves are at their most extreme beauty, Bald Eagle watching programs,
and wild edible foods programs.
If a teacher or group of people would like a program catered
especially to meet their needs, they can call to see when a date
can be arranged. Also, the interpreter is available to go to a
teacher's classroom for presentations, with advance scheduling.
For scheduling or more information about
interpretive programs, contact the Site Interpretive Program Coordinator,
Scott
Isringhausen, at 618-786-3323.
All interpretive programs at Pere Marquette
State Park are free of charge.
