Interpreter Information

The visitors’ center and historic site are open Thursday - Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and Tuesday - Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The historic site has the archaeological outline of the original site of all the forts built at Fort Massac. There is also a replica of an 1802 American Fort that once stood on the site. The visitors center has a reception area with information on the fort and surrounding area. There is a history video about Fort Massac and a prehistoric artifact display.

The historic site offers educational programs presented by the site interpreter. The historical period is from 1750's to the Civil War. Classroom presentations are available. For more information, call 618-524-9321.
